Steel 1045 is a medium-strength versatile medium carbon alloy. Because of its poor hardenability, it is generally used in normalized state. When mechanical properties are required to be higher, it is quenched and tempered. ASTM1045 steel is used to manufacture parts with high strength requirements, such as gears, shafts, piston pins, etc., and mechanically machining parts, forgings, stamping parts and bolts, nuts, and pipe joints that are not subject to strong forces. |
