At present, the current status of surface treatment liquid detection and control of domestic PS plate manufacturers can be roughly divided into manual control, semi-automatic control and automatic control.

1) Manual control

This is the common practice of most small and medium-sized PS plate manufacturers in my country. It is mainly manifested in the fact that the data management system of the entire production line has not yet been formed, and the degree of automation is low. For the detection of various acid-base treatment liquids in the surface treatment process section, only the instrument display is often used, and there is no automatic real-time feedback control. Among them, the concentration detection is completed by manual laboratory titration, and the supplementary liquid is also performed manually based on experience, so it is greatly affected by human factors.

① Regular inspections. On the production line, the storage tanks of each acid-base solution in the surface treatment process section are equipped with corresponding acid-base concentration detection instruments. There are box-type or wall-mounted display panels to display the acid or alkali in the tank. The real-time concentration of the liquid. In the normal production process, as the reaction progresses, the concentration of various acid-base solutions will decrease or change to varying degrees. Therefore, workers will regularly inspect the indications of various meters according to a certain shift. After the regular inspection, the worker will notify the inspector to take a sample to test the actual concentration of the treatment liquid. In addition, if there is a problem in the production process that affects the quality of the finished plate, the worker will also sample the surface treatment solution for inspection.

②Laboratory titration testing. The concentration detection of the solution is done by titration in the laboratory. The inspector determines the end point of the titration according to the color change of the indicator, and then calculates the analysis result based on the volume consumed by the standard solution to obtain the accurate concentration of the treatment solution.

③ Manual supplementation. The worker responsible for replenishing the original solution, after receiving the replenishment notice from the inspector, replenishes a certain amount of the original solution into the processing box according to the corresponding concentration difference to restore the solution concentration required by the process. The specific amount of replenishing stock solution is often based on the workers' years of practical experience, and a certain empirical value is gradually found out.

2) Semi-automatic control

At present, some companies have designed a set of "semi-automatic" solution concentration control devices based on manual control.

On the production line, each surface treatment liquid circulation tank is equipped with a corresponding acid-base concentration detection instrument, and an external display panel is connected through a wire to display the concentration of acid or lye in the circulation tank in real time. At the same time, there is a pipeline from the raw liquid storage tank to the treatment liquid circulation tank, and the valve controls the amount of liquid outflow, and continuously drips the raw liquid into the treatment tank to maintain the stability of the treatment liquid concentration in the tank.

The real-time dripping amount of the raw liquid is calculated by the workers based on years of actual production experience. With different speed conditions and production conditions, a set of empirical data is gradually formed, which is generally measured and controlled in "drops per minute".

3) Automated detection and control

At present, some large-scale PS plate manufacturers at home and abroad have adopted automatic detection systems for the concentration of the processing solution, using computer control and display to realize the automatic detection of solution concentration and automatic replenishment of the original solution. This type of system adopts advanced acid concentration sensor, acid temperature sensor and corresponding intelligent instrument.
