Hymu 80 is a nickel-iron-molybdenum alloy containing 80% nickel, which has a very high initial permeability and maximum magnetic permeability with minimal hysteresis loss. Mainly used for high performance magnetic shielding, current sensing magnetic ring and so on. Hymu80 is mainly used to make transformer cores with toroidal coils and laminations to meet compatibility and weight requirements. It is also used as a shield to protect electrical components from stray magnetic fields.

HyMu 80 has a machining cost factor of 10.0 when compared to steel 12L14. It can be readily welded, formed, and cold worked. HyMu 80 can be annealed by heat treatment.
